Understanding Okmulgee County Releases
A person classified as released has left one custody setting, but that event does not always mean a return to the community. The Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority, or OCCJA, operates the local detention facilities. Its booking record may close because of bond, a court order, time served, dismissal, sentence completion, death, or a transfer. A transfer to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, another jail, a tribal or federal custodian, or immigration authorities is still custody.
The live roster and the release record answer different questions. Tiger's Active Roster shows people presently listed in local custody. Its Released Last 72hrs view identifies bookings recently moved into the vendor's released category. The full event record remains with OCCJA, while a court clerk holds the filed legal order and a receiving agency holds the next custody record. That division is why one missing roster name cannot prove where a person went.
- Time served
- A custodial term ends after the credited period is complete.
- Parole
- A state prisoner leaves prison but serves the remaining balance under supervision.
- Probation
- A court orders community supervision, which may occur without a prison release.
- Discharge
- The identified sentence or supervision relationship ends, subject to any other case or jurisdiction.
- Detainer
- Another agency asks the holding facility to keep or transfer the person.
Okmulgee County Release Types
Release authority matters more than the word “released.” Bond can end the immediate jail hold without resolving the charge. A dismissal may end one prosecution while another hold remains. Parole changes a state prisoner's physical location but not the sentence. Transfer closes the Okmulgee booking while custody continues with the receiving body. The final OCCJA release or disposition record should identify the recorded authority and destination.
| Recorded event | What it means | Next confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or court order | The local hold ends under stated court terms. | OCCJA record and the filed court order |
| Time served or sentence complete | The named local custodial term ends. | Release timestamp and case docket |
| Dismissal | The specified charge ends, not necessarily every hold. | Disposition plus OCCJA exit record |
| ODOC transfer | County custody ends and state custody begins. | ODOC Offender Lookup |
| Federal, tribal, or ICE transfer | Another sovereign or agency assumes control. | Receiving system and related court |
| Parole or probation | Community placement may include supervision. | ODOC status and the assigned office |
A bond amount shown on a charge is only a navigation clue. It does not show that payment occurred, that every charge was satisfied, or that no detainer existed. Match any bond figure to the court's bond entry, then ask OCCJA which event actually closed the booking.
Okmulgee Release Record Fields
Tiger's recent-release detail can expose useful identifiers, yet it is not a discharge certificate. A sampled entry inside the released window showed “Schedule Release Date: N/A.” That result supports a recent database classification, not an exact exit time, release reason, or destination. Preserve the booking number and request the final record from OCCJA.
| Field | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| Name and date of birth | Identity, when the custodian can release it |
| Booking number | The specific custody episode |
| Booking date and time | When local processing began |
| Charges and arresting agency | The likely court and record holder |
| Actual release date and time | When OCCJA closed physical custody |
| Release authority or type | The recorded basis for exit or transfer |
| Destination or receiving agency | Whether custody continued elsewhere |
| Bond, fine, property, and photo | Related booking details, if maintained and releasable |
Court records add context. A judgment, sentence, dismissal, bond order, revocation, or later expungement order may explain the legal status. The docket does not establish when jail staff finished release processing. Pair it with the OCCJA entry.
Request Okmulgee Release Records
OCCJA is the first custodian for jail-created release material. The Sheriff may hold an arrest report created by its deputies, but detention operations belong to the authority. No dedicated OCCJA form, fee schedule, public records hours, or promised turnaround was found. Ask for the current submission method, electronic inspection, and a cost estimate before copies are made.
- Collect the full name, aliases, date of birth if known, booking number, and a narrow date range.
- Contact OCCJA at 315 West 8th Street, Okmulgee, OK 74447, or 918-752-0983, and ask for the records custodian.
- Request the final release or discharge record, actual date and time, authority or type, destination on transfer, booking identifier, and releasable photograph.
- Ask to inspect the record electronically and request an estimate under the current office arrangements.
- If a response is withheld or redacted, ask which legal provision applies and seek the filed order from the correct court when needed.
The county directory also lists 918-756-0983 for the jail. OCCJA's more specific current site lists 918-752-0983, so the authority's number should lead. The digit difference is retained as a source distinction, not silently corrected.
Oklahoma Release Records Law
The Oklahoma Open Records Act, 51 O.S. §§24A.1 and following, favors access to government records while preserving lawful confidentiality. It does not make every field public. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, medical, investigative, and security-sensitive material may be restricted. A focused request for an existing booking record is more precise than asking an agency to decide whether a person is “free.”
Oklahoma sealing and expungement rules appear chiefly in 22 O.S. §§18, 18a, and 19. Eligibility depends on the case, disposition, history, waiting period, and the law in effect. An online name disappearing after an order does not show that the person remained jailed or was never booked. Authorized access to the order or the custodian's response is the sound route.
Okmulgee Release Processing Costs
Okmulgee Code §1.16.030 adds an unusual municipal detail. It permits recovery of actual incarceration costs that can include booking, confinement, food, care, and “receiving and processing out.” The code also contains manifest-hardship language and describes circumstances in which reimbursement may be required before release.
The ordinance does not prove that every released person receives a bill or remains held for payment. It concerns City-law costs and must be read with the actual municipal case and OCCJA booking. Ask the municipal clerk about the court entry and OCCJA about the physical release record. No general county bond schedule or release fee was verified.
Note: A local cost provision is not the same as a published OCCJA records-copy fee, which the research did not locate.
Find Released Okmulgee County Inmates
Start with the custody source, not a broad name sweep. For a recent county booking, the Tiger release view provides the fastest public clue. For an older event, OCCJA's historical record and the correct court become central. A transfer notation changes the next step to the named receiving system.
- Open Released Last 72hrs, match name, age, gender, and available detail, and record the check time.
- Click the detail and save the booking number, booking date, arresting agency, charges, and displayed status fields.
- Compare the Active Roster to detect an active or repeat booking, then call OCCJA for the actual event.
- Search the proper state, municipal, tribal, or federal court for the legal order tied to the case.
- Follow a documented transfer to ODOC, BOP, ICE, USMS, another jail, or a supervision office.
- When the event is older than the rolling window, send a narrow historical release-record request.
ODOC Released Offender Search
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections lookup applies when the person entered state custody or supervision. Accept the disclaimer and compare a strong set of identifiers. ODOC warns that the lookup moved to a new data source with unanticipated issues, and that its public data are abbreviated. A projected release date is a forecast, not proof that an exit occurred.
The official ODOC interface and warning can be reviewed at the source before relying on a result.
The captured screen reinforces the need to confirm a status or discharge through ODOC records when precision matters.
| ODOC item | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name, number, age, and photo | Use together for identity matching |
| Offense data | Abbreviated lookup information, not the full judgment |
| Projected release date | A tentative estimate subject to credits and legal events |
| Facility status | State physical custody continues |
| Parole or community supervision | Prison custody ended, but legal control continues |
| Discharged | Confirm the pertinent relationship through Offender Records when exact history matters |
Okmulgee Recent Release Feed
Okmulgee has a genuine rolling release feed. The summary lists name, gender, and age. A clicked detail may add the booking number and date, arresting agency, physical description, charges, charge type, bond and fine amounts, scheduled date, and an inmate picture. No separate official 24-hour release slice was found, and Booked Last 72hrs is an intake view, not a release list.
No public refresh promise or archive beyond the three-day label was published. Save the time of the check. A person absent after three days requires an OCCJA historical request and the correct court trail. The Okmulgee County 24-hour release page explains how to narrow the verified three-day source for a same-day inquiry.
The official OCCJA inmate-services page frames its linked roster as current, which keeps the active and release functions distinct.
The source should be used as an active-custody contrast, not as a historical release archive.
Okmulgee Release Court Records
Okmulgee custody can produce records in several courts. OSCN covers state district cases. Read the docket in order, including bond events, disposition, judgment and sentence, warrants, revocations, and later orders. The Okmulgee County Court Clerk can supply a filed document when docket shorthand is unclear.
Okmulgee Municipal Court handles City matters and expressly uses OCCJA for jail services. The municipal clerk holds the case disposition, while OCCJA holds the physical booking and release event. Tribal jurisdiction adds the Muscogee Nation District Court records route. Choose the court from the arrest and case, not from the person's residence.
Note: A court order supplies legal authority, but the jail record supplies the actual processing time and any transfer destination.
Okmulgee Post-Release Supervision
ODOC administers field supervision, while the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board considers parole. These roles are separate. Search the ODOC record, then contact the Okmulgee P&P Office at 200 North Grand, Okmulgee, OK 74447, 405-240-2703. Ask whether the public status means parole, probation, community sentencing, or discharge and which office is responsible.
A board docket proves scheduled consideration. A posted result records board action. Neither gives a prison-gate time. Parole means physical prison release with a sentence balance under supervision. Probation can begin without a prison term. The statewide fugitive search concerns alleged absconders and should not be read as a successful discharge.
ODOC also publishes osordischarges@doc.ok.gov for discharge questions. For certain registry entries, the official detail offers a correction note route. These direct channels are better than treating an old mirror as current.
Correct Okmulgee Release Status
A stale or disputed post-release status should go back to the official source that controls it. ODOC publishes osordischarges@doc.ok.gov for discharge questions, so a person with an ODOC number can ask the agency to clarify whether the pertinent sentence or supervision relationship ended. A public parole or community-supervision label must not be converted into discharge without that confirmation.
Oklahoma's offender registries serve only people with a statutory registration duty. Their presence does not prove a release date, and their absence says nothing about a person outside those statutes. When a listed detail appears wrong, the documented “submit a note” path or agency contact provides a direct correction route. These official channels preserve the source and date of the response, which a commercial mirror cannot supply.
Okmulgee Release Alerts and Locators
Oklahoma VINE through VINELink supports a one-person custody check and event notifications through available phone, email, text, app, or TTY channels. Compare the reporting agency and exact status wording. A release alert means that source reported an event; it can coexist with a transfer. VINE is not a permanent archive and published material does not establish that every Oklahoma agency participates.
Federal sentenced custody uses the BOP Inmate Locator. “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” proves only the BOP relationship ended or is absent. ICE's locator searches present immigration detention by A-number and country or by biographical information. It is not a historical release ledger. USMS has no comparable public released-person locator, so federal pretrial movement requires the federal case and OCCJA transfer record.
Moore Release or Custody Transfer
Moore Detention Center creates a locally important transfer question. An official 2021 ICE inspection documents ICE ERO Dallas and U.S. Marshals use at Moore. That historical source does not prove the present population or contract status. It does show why disappearance from a local roster cannot be restated as community release.
Ask OCCJA for the destination. If the record points to immigration custody, use ICE's locator and ERO or facility contact. If it points to USMS, use the federal case; if a federal sentence followed, check BOP. A no-result in one system does not cancel a hold in another.
OCCJA Release Record History
OCCJA, not the Sheriff directly, operates Okmulgee's two secure detention facilities. Its official site says they operate around the clock and have combined capacity over 500. That is a facility figure, not a public release-desk schedule or a count of released people. No local annual release statistic was found.
The authority describes the county jail as established in 2002 and Moore as established in 2018. The ICE inspection dates Moore's opening to June 2017. Attribute both dates because they may refer to different construction or operational milestones. The difference should not be smoothed into an unsupported single date.
Compare Okmulgee Custody Records
Each official system proves only its own relationship. Two-source confirmation pairs a custody event with a court, records-office, supervision, or receiving-agency event. This approach prevents the most common mistake: treating a closed local booking as proof of complete freedom from custody or supervision.
| Source | Best use | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| Tiger Active Roster | Current local listing | A past release or destination |
| Tiger Released Last 72hrs | Recent vendor release classification | Exact time, authority, or destination |
| OCCJA final record | Local booking exit and recorded transfer | Later events in another system |
| ODOC lookup | State custody, projection, or supervision status | An ordinary county-only release |
| Court docket | Legal orders and disposition | Physical jail processing time |
| BOP, ICE, or federal case | The named federal or immigration relationship | Every other jurisdiction |
Okmulgee Release System Directory
The facility map includes physical local detention sites and the systems that may receive or continue to track a person after local custody ends. The municipal entry is a legal category housed through OCCJA, not a separately verified overnight city jail. ODOC, BOP, ICE, and USMS are system pages serving Okmulgee County rather than claims that each has a physical prison in the county.
- Okmulgee County Jail / Okmulgee County Detention Center: ordinary county booking, with OCCJA release confirmation.
- Moore Detention Center: multi-jurisdiction detention where an exit may be a transfer.
- Okmulgee municipal prisoners housed through OCCJA: City case records and OCCJA physical-custody records.
- Oklahoma Department of Corrections statewide system: prison, supervision, and discharge status.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons system: sentenced federal custody and released status.
- ICE detention system / ERO Dallas channel: present immigration locator and follow-up.
- U.S. Marshals Service prisoner system: federal pretrial and transport custody tied to the federal case.
