Okmulgee County Jail Release Paths
The Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority, known as OCCJA, operates the detention center. That detail controls where a release inquiry starts. The Sheriff may have created the arrest report, and the court may have entered a bond, dismissal, sentence, or transfer order. OCCJA holds the jail-operation record that documents the booking’s physical close. A person can leave on bond, after time served, after dismissal, or under another court order. The same exit may instead be a move to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, another county, tribal custody, federal custody, or immigration custody.
Leaving the Active Roster does not identify which path occurred. Tiger’s separate Released Last 72hrs view is a better clue for a recent event, but it still does not prove that the person walked into the community. Its inclusion means the vendor classified that booking in the rolling released window. Ask OCCJA for the actual release time, authority, type, and destination. If a receiving agency is listed, check that agency’s system before treating the person as free of custody.
Confirm an Okmulgee Jail Release
The official local chain begins with the Tiger Released Last 72hrs view. It is the shortest verified online release list for the county. The summary shows name, gender, and age. A clicked detail may add a booking number, booking date, arresting agency, charges, charge type, bond and fine fields, physical descriptors, and a booking photograph. One checked detail in the release feed showed “Schedule Release Date: N/A,” so that label cannot substitute for the final jail record.
- Search the released list and match more than the name.
- Open the detail and note the booking number, booking date, and arresting agency.
- Compare the Active Roster to catch a rebooking or duplicate identity.
- Call OCCJA and ask whether the booking closed, why it closed, and whether a destination was recorded.
- Confirm the related legal event with the correct court or receiving custodian.
A result from a court is useful, but it has a different purpose. A docket records judicial action. It normally does not record the instant jail staff completed release processing. The Okmulgee County released-inmate search and records overview explains how those sources fit together for an older booking.
Okmulgee Jail Release Records
For a booking older than the rolling window, request the historical booking and release entry from OCCJA. Use a narrow date range and enough identifiers to avoid a mistaken match. Ask for full name and aliases, date of birth if known, booking or control number, booking date and time, release date and time, release authority or disposition, destination on transfer, charges, bond disposition if recorded, property receipt, and a releasable booking photograph. This is a request list, not a claim that the jail uses each term as a fixed database field.
| Requested item | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Booking number and date | Which custody event the response covers |
| Release time and authority | When and under what recorded basis the booking closed |
| Release type or disposition | Bond, court order, sentence end, transfer, or another recorded route |
| Destination agency | Whether custody continued after the local exit |
| Charges and arresting agency | Which court and agency may hold related records |
Oklahoma’s Open Records Act, 51 O.S. §24A.1 and following, governs access, subject to exemptions and agency rules. No local OCCJA fee schedule, records-counter hours, or promised response time was found. Ask for an estimate and current delivery arrangements before requesting copies. A sealed or expunged matter may restrict what is released.
Okmulgee Jail Release Contact
Use OCCJA for the detention-center release event. Use the Sheriff for a Sheriff-created arrest record, and use the court clerk for the filed order or docket. The operator’s current website gives one facility number, while the county directory gives a number that differs by one digit. Both are preserved below because the sources disagree. The OCCJA number is the lead contact because the authority operates the jail.

OCCJA describes facility operations as continuous. That does not establish round-the-clock public records service, release-desk access, or visitor hours. Ask before traveling. For a court record, the county directory lists the Court Clerk at 918-756-3042. The Sheriff’s non-emergency number is 918-756-4311.
Note: State the booking number when calling so staff can distinguish the exact Okmulgee County jail release event.
OCCJA Runs Okmulgee Jail
OCCJA, not the Sheriff directly, runs the county’s two detention facilities. The authority’s official facility page describes secure operations and identifies the Okmulgee County Jail as established in 2002. It also says the two facilities have a combined capacity of more than 500. That is a combined figure, not the population of this jail and not a current inmate count.
The distinction prevents a common records error. An arrest by the Sheriff does not mean the Sheriff holds every later jail document. Likewise, a county court order does not prove how or when OCCJA completed the physical release. The booking record, arrest file, and court case may sit with three separate custodians. Ask each office for the record it created.
The official source image below shows the OCCJA identity used to verify the operator and facility. Visit the linked authority page before relying on changing contact details.

The source supports the operator and facility facts, while the actual release result must still be tied to an individual booking.
Okmulgee Jail Release History
Okmulgee’s facility history has two useful points. OCCJA dates the county jail to 2002, and it operates a second site called Moore Detention Center. The authority reports a combined capacity above 500 for both sites. Those facts explain why a caller should give the exact facility and booking number, not merely ask about “the Okmulgee jail.” A person can move between a local facility and another custodian without ever receiving a community release.
The local setup also explains why the official Tiger navigation separates Active Roster, Booked Last 72hrs, and Released Last 72hrs. “Booked” is an intake window. “Active” is current custody. “Released” is an exit classification. None of them is a permanent discharge certificate. Their value comes from using the right view for the right question.
- Release
- An exit from one custody record, which may be to the community or another custodian.
- Transfer
- A move in which custody continues with another facility or agency.
- Discharge
- Completion or termination of the identified sentence or supervision relationship.
- Detainer
- A request or hold that can direct custody to another agency.
Okmulgee Release Versus Active Custody
A released person usually drops from the Active Roster, but absence alone proves very little. The name may be spelled differently, a feed can lag, the rolling window can expire, or a new booking may exist. A transfer also removes the person from one local list. Start with the source that matches the event date, then request the record when the online views do not settle it.
| Question | Best starting source | Required follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Listed at Okmulgee now? | Active Roster | Call OCCJA if the result conflicts with recent information |
| Classified as released recently? | Released Last 72hrs | Request actual time, authority, and destination |
| Released more than three days ago? | OCCJA historical record | Check the related court or receiving agency |
| Transferred to ODOC? | ODOC Offender Lookup | Read status and contact Offender Records when needed |
Do not turn a bond amount into a release reason. One booking can contain several charges and holds. Court proof that one bond was posted may still leave another hold in place. The final OCCJA record supplies the local event, while the receiving system shows whether custody continued.
Okmulgee Jail Court Records
The arresting agency and charge point to the court that can explain the legal event behind an Okmulgee jail release. Search OSCN with Okmulgee County selected for a state district case. Its docket can contain bond events, minute entries, disposition, judgment and sentence, warrants, costs, and later orders. Ask the Court Clerk for the filed order when the docket uses short terms. The county directory lists the clerk at 918-756-3042.
City cases take a different route. Okmulgee Municipal Court handles City-issued matters and expressly uses OCCJA for jail service. The municipal clerk can confirm the case action, while OCCJA confirms the booking's physical close. A Muscogee Nation matter can require the Nation's court-record path at 2501 Lvmhvlke Street. That tribal court is a case source, not a detention roster.
Use jurisdiction as a filter. Searching OSCN alone can miss a City or tribal case, and a court disposition alone can miss the time or destination of the jail event. The strongest proof pairs OCCJA's final record with the correct court action.
